03-02-16 -- VASILEVSKIY SELECTED ON TEAM RUSSIA FOR THE 2016 WORLD CUP OF HOCKEY

Congratulations to Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender, Andrei Vasilevskiy, who was selected today as one of the 3 goaltenders for the Russian Team for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Vasilevskiy, who's no stranger to international competition,  played 3 years in a row for Team Russia at the World Junior Championships and played in 2014 in the World Hockey Championship winning the gold medal with Team Russia.

This season, the 21 year old, who is in his first full season in the NHL, holds a 7-5-1 record with a .918 save percentage and a 2,36 goals against average.

For the past 2 seasons, Vasilevskiy has been working daily with Tampa Bay Lightning Goaltending Coach and Pro Tek Goaltender Owner and Lead Instructor, Frantz Jean. Jean started to work with Vasilevskiy following is draft by the Lightning in June 2012.
