Congratulation to Tampa Bay Lightning Prospect, Andrei Vasilevskiy, who was named the AHL player of the week for the week ending on Dec 14th, 2014.

Vasilevskiy allowed one goal on 56 shots in earning victories in both of his starts last week, good for a 0.50 goals-against average and a .982 save percentage.

Tampa Bay’s first-round pick (19th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Vasilevskiy has compiled a record of 8-3-3 in 14 appearances with Syracuse this season, with a 2.34 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage and two shutouts.

Vasilevskiy also won his first NHL start this week stopping 22 of 23 shots in Philadelphia for a 3-1 win over the Flyers...

Congratulation to Pro Tek Goaltending Coach, Marc Champagne, who has been hired as a Goaltending Consultant by the NHL New York Islanders.

Part of Marc responsibilities will be to work and develop the Islanders yougn goaltenders and also spend time with the team's NHL goalies, Jaroslav Halak and Chad Johnson.

Marc has been a Pro Tek Coach for many years and is the school head coaches in our cammps and clinics in Brossard.

Shane Owen of the Stockton Thunder is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Nov. 17-23.

Owen went 2-0-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .956 in two appearances last week.

A native of Shanty Bay, Ontario, Owen is 5-6-0 in 12 appearances with the Thunder this season and leads the league with 375 saves while ranking fifth with 684 minutes played.

Prior to turning pro, he played two seasons with Moncton of the QMJHL, helping the team to the 2010 Memorial Cup Finals. During his time in Moncton, Shane was coached by Pro Tek Owner and Operator, Frantz Jean and Pro Tek Lead Coach, Marc Champagne. Champagne, who just got hired by the New York Islanders, Also works with Shane on a weekly basis.
